Since October, I started keeping track of all the extra money I’ve been making. This extra money will help fund vacations–and hopefully a honeymoon!

In October, I made $346
In November, I made $573.73
In December, I made …$900.51!!

To say I’m thrilled would be an understatement. I am so happy that we are able to put money aside for some of our travel dreams without affecting our bottom line.

How I made extra money in December:

Selling on half.com: $9.44
Surveys: $12
Mileage Check from Work: $80
Internet Refund: $76.69
Mystery Shopping: $87.03
Blog Staff Writing: $100
Blog Advertising: $535.35

We currently have $1577.43 in our travel account and $127.01 in our Paypal account, for a grand total of $1704.44!

I am now staff writing for two blogs, ImpulseSave and Everything Finance.

Blog rankings:

Alexa ranking: 255,446
Facebook Fans: 31
Twitter Followers: 485
Feedburner subscribers: 30
Visits: 7,730
Pageviews: 40,960
Avg. Time on Site: 2:38

January Goals:

  • Lose 8 pounds from Jan. 1st weight (already down 2! I know there’s a lot of water weight…)
  • Get at least 25 bloggers to participate in 10-Pound Challenge (Lose 10 pounds in 12 weeks, win $$$)
  • run 3x a week
  • spin 1-2x a week
  • Reach 200,000 Alexa rating
  • Make at least $400 in extra income
  • Pay $750 toward Credit Card #1
  • Pay off Amex credit card
  • Keep monthly extra expenses under $500

I love the mustry shopping – So far, it’s helped with paying for a car tune up (I was going to the dealership anyways, and the cost was going to be nearly $400, so the $80 for the job cut 25% of my costs) and some new eyeshadow I wanted that was $34 (I know – crazy) was covered by $22 dollars from a mystery shop. I try only to do the shops that I would want to do anyways, but may be hesitant cause of the cost, and then the payment for the work helps defer the cost.

Great work on the side income and for setting all of your goals. Making it public is a great way to hold you accountable. Good luck!

Definitely in on the weight loss challenge! Signing up at the gym tomorrow. It’s more expensive than I’d been wanting to put into my budget right now, but I’m realizing preventative maintenance will lower my health care costs in the future. Gotta invest in myself!
